Private Piano Lessons
Private piano lessons are taught in studio or in your home and are usually 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length. Lesson structure depends on your individual needs, experience and goals however most lessons include the following: learning to read and play music, learning to recognize and execute rhythms accurately, music theory concepts and their application, technique, improvisation and performance preparation. Group Theory Classes
Group Theory classes are offered periodically to teach proper music notation skills as well as to continue more detailed and in depth explanations of theory concepts learned in private lessons. This class also serves to better prepare those students enrolled in the Certificate of Merit program.

Tutoring for Music Classes
As many high schools and colleges offer music theory requirements, we offer private tutoring to help understand any difficult topics that may require additional explanation. Tutoring sessions can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes and are $55 per hour. Please contact us using our contact page for scheduling availability.

Northwest Valley Music Festival
Each year Piano By Julie sponsors this event which is held in Woodland Hills. Participants prepare 2-5 memorized pieces, the corresponding scales and chords, as well as receive a sightreading test. A judge from a university music program will come to listen and provide positive feedback and suggestions for improvement. It is a great opportunity to hear a professional evaluation of your skills from someone who is hearing you for the first time. Cost is $35 and is open to the community.
