Policies for 2009-2010
- Mission Statement: To prepare students to understand music and to skillfully play the piano so they can enjoy music for the rest of their lives. To become proficient so they can continue to grow in their musical understanding through adulthood.
- Tuition and Fees: Tuition covers not only the lesson time, bit also a spot on the schedule. Tuition is due the first week of the month, or at every lesson. Tuition received late (not during the first week of the month, or not at weekly lesson) will incur a late fee of $10. If you miss the lesson when payment is due, please mail your payment to avoid the late fee. All checks should be made payable to: Piano By Julie. Payment can be made by cash or check. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit or debit cards. Payment can also be made online by Paypal.
- Materials: Materials are not included in the tuition fee, please pay in full for materials as needed.
- Missed Lessons: In order to progress in your music lessons, regular attendance is necessary. For this reason, It is required that each student attend a minimum of 70% of their scheduled lessons. Tuition must be paid for any lessons missed beyond 30%. If you continually cancel your lessons, then I may ask you to stop altogether until you are ready to attend the 70% minimum necessary.
Make-ups are available only if you have canceled 24 hours prior, and there is space available.
If 24 hour notice is not given, then no make-up is available and you will be charged the full amount for the lesson.
- Practice Time: Practice is necessary for progress on the piano. All students must practice. Practice would include playing everything on assignment sheet 3 times through, minimum of 4 days a week.
- What to Bring to Lessons: Please bring all books that you have assignments in, as well as your assignment sheet or notebook. No food, drink or gum in lesson. Please have clean hands.
- Performance Opportunities: It is highly recommended that all students attend recitals. Performance is negotiable but attendance is recommended. Selected students may also be presented in special events available such as the Northwest Valley Music Festival or special performances.
